A collection of my favourite images I have managed to obtain some photo’s I have taken from balloon festivals others have been acquired from free image sites across the net. Hot Air Balloon images there have been a lot of shows last year and it was good to see that the sport is growing from strength to strength.

There was a large gathering of Balloons in Bristol last year and that was a fabulous show to see very well organised and grand weather for the balloon chase. The normal procedure at a Hot Air Balloon festival is to have a race. The lead balloon or hare sets off first and is then chased to its landing point. The idea being the chasers must land as close and faster to the target balloon.

It’s always good to see new faces at these events and old friends it’s also very good to see young kids enjoying themselves and seeing these massive shapes in the sky. At a good hot air balloon show you can see a lot of the more unusual types of balloons ranging from the ones that look like houses to cans of beverage.

A hot air balloon is a fantastic way to advertise as they are very difficult to miss seeing one in the sky and it’s a good way to reach a large audience in the summer over a long period of time.  A hot air balloon is still one of the few things that make you stop and stare and say i wish I was up there. Looking down at the towns and people is a fantastic feeling.

I’m sure this year will be very good for this sport and more events get planned and I hope to be flying high over the England green and pleasant land from about Easter onwards at weekends and hope to get to travel to a few more festivals on the continent and make more contacts within the industry.

Make sure you get to a festival this year find out who will be there as regard different Hot air balloon companies around Britain and try to get involved having a ride at a festival when you are amidst the cloud hoppers is something else when you can see people less than 200 yards away from you high in sky together.

Having conversations with other balloonists while riding the sky is something to see this year I intend to be more involved with one of the events across the country to make sure I’m going to make sure that I will be part of one of the people taking off and chasing the lead balloon hopefully part of the winning team but just glad to be part of the event will suffice.
